Color me dumb, uninformed, whatever, but here's my confession.
I bought all my switches from B&C Specialties,(AeroElectric Connention). With a small amount of investigation on their web site, I found that the 3-position switches are to be oriented with the keyway up. Silly me, I assumed that all the switches would be oriented the same way. WRONG! Doing some testing of the installed switches in my panel, I found that all my 2-position switches had up off and down on. So I am in the process of rotating a bunch of (already wired) 2-position switches to get off to be down and on to be up.
Conclusion: Don't ASSUME!

Hi Jay,
If you want to change your switches you might be able to get SPDT
ones that will fit into your keyed holes. These will usually close
the lower two contacts when the switch handle is moved up and the
upper two when the handle is moved down.
Just another option.
