I currently have a sporties SP-200 hand held radio with D/C head set. Works ok but I don't have intercom. I was wondering what some of you guys are using.

Was using a portable Icom intercom and radio but went to a panel mount radio intercom combo for better radio performance. The new Xcom worked great all the way to osh and back. http://www.mcp.com.au/xcom760/ is the site for the radio

You can get a small portable intercom, plug it into
your radio where your headset goes, and plug your
headsets into the intercom. It runs off a 9V battery,
so you have to be sure to turn it off when not in use.
My boy did this in a Champ that has no electrical
system and it works great with the Val radio installed
in there. Both occupants can hear each other and the radio.

Hi John,
I built a 2 place kit intercom from RST and am very happy with it. Cut a hole in the panel and fabricated some straps to hold it in, connected to the 12 volt sytem, have pigtails for music input and portable recorder. Anyway, here is catalog the page that has it listed:

http://www.rst-engr.com/rst/catalog/intercom.html#2-Place%20Portable%20Intercom%20Kit

As an aside I built two of RST's headset kits also, works fine with my Delcom handheld.
