FYI for interested U.S. vets:
[quote] Subject: Change in Flag Conduct
Per an article in this month's Arizona VFW Newsletter, Section 9 of title 4, United States Code, has been amended to state - "Members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present but not in uniform may render the military salute" during hoisting, lowering, or passing of the flag. In the past, if you weren't in uniform, you showed your respect by placing your right hand over your heart.
I wonder how many folks you'll see doing this in the future.
This change was passed by the Senate on July 25, 2007.

Should have been at the Alabama game with me Sat. Night. I did have a few questions from those standing near me. I’m amazed at how many citizens do not even know how to place their right hand over their heart during the national anthem. Look at everyone of our “sports” heroes! Dirt balls have not defended anything!
