This is sort of interesting. They have recent sat photos of the area in which Steve Fossett disappeared. Using something called "HIT" you can scan a small section then check a box indicating whether you think you've seen some indication of an aircraft. It's an interesting way to divide up a very big job among (potentially) millions of people. Here's the link (it requires a little getting accustomed to and signing up for "HIT"):
