There's a problem with wrapping the exhaust systems on our engines: oil. Oil accumulates from *nowhere* and *everywhere* at the same time and will migrate through that high temp fabric until the day a fire starts. Perhaps it will happen while you still are on the ground, perhaps.
Reno racers with nice dry flat engines use the wrap, especially on tightly cowled Formula midgets and Sport class racers. Let me know if anyone sees it done on round engines.
