Okay, I am jealous of you guys, over the big pond, who manage to have spendid Kitfox fly-ins. I was to fly to Germany last week-end but weather prevented me to do so. Instead, I decided to go and visit Geir-Olav who has just posted on this list his new Kitfox with Jabiru. We live only one hour away from each other, he on the north side of Oslo and me, on the south side.
So I went to see him on Sunday and had the pleasure to fly his model 4 with shorter wings than my model 3. Same engine, same performance but ... he flies faster than me. Not a surprise, really, his Vne is 20 MPH higher than mine.
Geir-Olav still needs a few hours with his instructor and then ... we will fly together to Sweden and visit Lars-Goran who hosts the European Kitfox site.
Here is a photo of our two Kitfoxes, on a nice Sunday morning, somewhere in the Norwegian countryside.

I also include a photo of Oslo, the capital of Norway. As you can see, it is a very small town and the inhabitants don't have to go very long to find nature; it is virtually at their doorstep. Also notice (red arrow) the Holmenkollen ski jumping ramp. It was erected for the Olympics of 1952 and has since become a visual landmark and a symbol for the town.

Michel next time you're looking at Lars European kitfox site check out OE-AMJ. It's the one I've been working on for the past four years. It will, I hope, soon be flying off to some European fly-ins. Sooner or later we European Kitfoxers have to get together for a big event. I'm just waiting on the mandatory test hours to be flown off. Cheers. Kerry.

I agree! We have so much to learn from looking at each other's aircraft.
Your S5 looks very nice but with 357 kg empty weight, you fly it under
the experimental rule, don't you? In Norway, we don't accept
ultralights heavier than 275 kg empty. My model 3 is only 236 kg empty
so it is much easier to fly it as an ultralight since it's much less
paperwork. The only limitation is that we can't fly "on-top," but
that's not a real problem. In a couple of occasions, with very low
ceiling or fog patches, I had no other choice than to fly over the
clouds but ... there is no one there to check my license!
The limitation for no-on-top is the fact that our engines are not
certified and we must always fly with a possible emergency landing
place in sight.
Anyway, let's stay tuned to Lars-Goran homepage; there will be Kitfox
fly-ins in the future.
Cheers,
Michel Verheughe
