Many of us have noticed that M-14's from Romania have idle mixtures that are too rich. They puff black smoke (and even flames at night) when idling. I do not know why the factory does this, but it seems fairly common. The good news is that it isn't difficult to fix.
I finally got around to adjusting mine and am VERY happy with the result. It is a little bit of a pain as you need to pull the bottom exhaust section off on the right side to get at it (unless you have hands and fingers like a spider), but is a very simple adjustment screw once you can get at it.
If you do adjust this mixture, remember this mixture screw is an air bleed (not fuel) adjustment. So, to lean the mixture open the valve (counter-clockwise). It took eight clicks of leaning to get mine where it seems good.
It idles better now and has a lot less stumble if you goose the throttle from idle to a higher setting.
Cheers,
Steve

Mozam,
Thanks for the tips. Need to do the same on mine soon. Would you, by any chance, have a photo showing exactly which screw we need to clear access to>
thanks,
D
