I might have to beef up the wings a bit and build a fire proof Tail section but do you supose this will work on a MK3 Xtra 

solar t62-2a1 with a NSI prop and a NSI variable pitch prop. It is running in the picture. 100HP

There would be no advantage to that, you would only be able to fly for 30 minutes or less due to the huge fuel consumption of a turbine engine.   A Rotax 912-S would work better, no mods needed, and you can fly for hours...
