I think this is a query for anyone building in the UK, as it concerns a PFA mandatory mod.
The PFA insist that we install a link between the Flap torque tube an the elevator horn to apply a pitch bias when the flaps are lowered.
I have the drawing for it, but don't have the facilities, (or the skill) to do the machining and welding needed. (the welding presumably has to be done by a CAA-approved welder).
How have other builders dealt with this? CZAW don't want to know and Zenith don't reply to e-mails. Since it seems to be a UK-specific mod, I guess they wouldn't be able to help anyway.
Any advice welcome!

Dave, call Zenith and ask for the Phone # to Zenair Europe. Nick Heintz is over there now to help you folks out. Zenith can’t help because it was a European modification that they were not involved with. It was developed by Chris Heintz and the European dealer, of which Nick Heintz is now in charge.

Dave, the mod drawing shows an extension spring labeled with a CZAW part number, does the CZAW plans include any details or spec for the spring? I'm working on the tail now and I will need to incorporate this mod but I can't find the parts, does Zenair Europe stock them.

I've been fighting this one for some time now - I think I am getting
somewhere at last!
I finally contacted Lawrence Lewis (long 'phone call!!) who suggested I
phone CZAW direct and ask to speak to Monika. Her reaction was immediate
"yes, you should ahve been supplied with the kit, I will arrange for it to
be sent out to you at no cost".
I have just this minute received an E-mail from her to say it is in the
paint shop and will be sent out next week.
If you are building from plans, I will be able to give more information on
the spring when I get it.
So if you are building from a kit, I suggest you contact her.
Monika's E-mail is m.polaskova(at)czaw.cz
It may be best to phone her first, the No. is +420-572543456
Since this is only of UK interest and probably rather boring to our US
friends, feel free to contact me off-list on
