Dear Carl & Skylor, thanks for the information. I will use the screen idea over the vent end. I  will also retro my XL vent tubes at annual as well. On the brake line I'm building an 8a and have no landing gear tower such as in the tail dragger. The line is shown on the plans exiting at the weldment tube down directly in front of the center spar. The question is do we simply enlarge the landing gear hole to accommodate the brake line down the leg or should we drill a separate hole nearby put in a plastic snap bushing.
