Can someone tell me what I need to do to get the updated rudder pedals? I was told that the pedals need to have triangular supports welded to the posts. Is this something that I need to do, or do I need to acquire new ones from KitFox.

Ken,
There are several ways to strengthen the rudder pedal weldments. Attached
are photos of my method - I fabricated the reinforcements and found a
certified welder to put them together. The metal is 4130 and exactoy the
same thickness as the pedal tubing.

Kent, you can reinforce your rudder pedals for much less than the cost of new ones. I purchased the 4130 plate and cut it to fit then had a welder do the welding. The hardest part was sanding the powder coating off before I took them to the welding shop. I think some people use smaller triangles than I did. Mine might be a little overkill. picture attached.

Here's another photo that shows a 4130 strap welded on the back of the rudder cable arm where it attaches to the rudder pedal.
