Several years ago I had a Zenith CH701 w/ 582 and HACMAN altitude compensating carbs. I re-set the carbs once in late fall and once again in late spring for the seasonal temperature variations here in Buffalo, NY.
I had not problem with richer or leaner than normal plug readings but admittedly did not fly to very high altitudes. The system seemed to work well.
