Don’t know if the email from my palm got through. If not let me know. Answer is yes. Have you got your back seat setup for IFR the same as the front. Traditionally, (in the AF student training) that is, the instrument check ride is flown from the backset under a hood (generally with a curtain pulled over the backset of the tandom trainer). Later in the course of training or once operational the check ride may be flown with the IP flying on your wing on a formation  approach in VMC weather with the IP monitoring the approach from the chase position.  

Some of the AF/Navy prior life IPs can elaborate more.
