I happen to have those very instruments. You can get a replacement "G" meter
and compass pretty cheap that are better.

So folks, no replies on this. No-one have any ideas? Does no-one else
have the type of airspeed indicator with built in mach-meter?

Has anyone ever had a look at the box that senses airspeed and retracts
the
flaps automatically?
I need to know what the electronic connection looks like (type of plug,
no.
of pins, etc).
On mine this functionality was moved to a new tyoe of air speed indicator
which is now rather scarce (read unobtainable).

Jorgen,
It is located under the glare shield, left front. If you stand in your seat,
lean over the windshield, (as if looking from outside - in) it is on the
left side torwards the lower front of windshield. Yellow like a fuel
pressure sensor. I hope I remembered that correctly.

I think I still have the stock airspeed indicator someplace in a box. If you
want it I'll send it.

Hi Bill, thanks.
May I dare ask if you or anyone has a schematic / wiring diagram of the box?
My airspeed indicator has 4 wires going into it, have played with a meter on
the indicator and on the wiring, was hoping to find a pressure activated
microswitch set-up. But its not, seems to be a circuit inside. From the
aircraft, 1 connector is earth, the other 3 has dv bus voltage on. SO in
the airspeed indicator there must be some kind of circuit. A friend has
offered to bring an oscilliscope to the aerie so we can try reverse engineer
the logic and get it bypassed.

Thanks but I'm OK on that ubless you have the "Special" one.
I have spare original indicator. (but can't use it. Without the right one
with the electrical connection the hydraulics don't work.

We have different airspeed indicators. I only have air hoses; no electric.

Jorgen,
I have the factory mach meter, but I use a F-86 airspeed indicator which
has Knots 50-700 and mach. but it is just static and pitot. the factory
mach meter is attached to the yellow sensor for the flaps up under the left side
of the panel (on the lower inside of the nose wall.)

Thanks Greg.
Sounds good. My air speed indicator show indicated airspeed, true airspeed
(or equivalent) and mach number.
The electronics side is curious. I do not have the yellow sensor, that is
now all done by the air speed indocator.
Do you have wiring details for yellow box?
