I’ve been struggling fitting the landing gear weldment on my RV7A.  It happens that the forward leg needs to be bent in order to have the weldment flange lay flush on the spar.  The instructions warn that this may be necessary.  I have to bring the leg in by about ¼”.

Any suggestions on how to bend the weldment legs?  I just don’t have a big enough hammer.

Cheers,

Rafael

One of mine fit very badly. I called Vans and finally got them to
send a replacement weldment. There was no way the first one was going
to fit without cutting and re-welding. It took a few calls to finally
get them to agree to do the swap. ymmv.
