DO NOT ARCHIVE

Was getting ready to form the Forks for my 601HD and have a question. Per the drawing 6L-1 dated 08/04 the outside dim. for the forks are 123 mm, fork thickness is 3/16 ". The nose wheel is P/N NW800CC-Z, I cann't find anything on this. The main wheels are P/N W80CC-Z and Matco web site said "The W80CC-Z is a 8.0 inch wheel with 5 inch width with an additional 1.85 inch caliper spacing. The wheel assembly is too wide. What did I miss. Jerry of GA

Hi Jerry,
The Matco wheels are 8-inch diameter x 4.00 inch width nominal size
without addressing tolerances for these.
Tires recommended for these wheels are a bit like wheelbarrow tires, but
a set of Michelin S83 tires are actually good looking
and are actually sized 3.5 x 8.0 and have a good load capacity and
ability to cope with landings.

I purchased mine from Zenith, but not long ago, you could buy them from
the Matco people. Some have gone to
the smaller diameter wheels because they streamline the plane a bit.
I'm flying these as I like the easy rolling ride they provide,
especially on grass.

After looking at the picture, I think the 6" width was a typo error.
The wheels should be 8" x 4" nominal. I'd call them first and then
check with Zenith if they don't make them anymore. Then look for a set
for sale from an unfinished kit if that doesn't work.
Good luck,
