Several people have written to me because they thought my comment about
"thoroughly exploring the region around the stall" implied that I was
suggesting that one go out and do this without any prior training or the
assistance of a qualified instructor. Nothing could be further from the
truth.
Just to set the record straight:
1. I believe the Yak-52 is an inherently safe aircraft when operated
properly. It does not appear to have any bad habits.
2. I believe that to properly and safely operate a Yak-52, as with all
aircrfat, requires training from a qualified instructor.
3. I would still be very comfortable in allowing my children to train in
and then solo in a Yak-52.
