I recently purchased a Kitfox 4-1200 and am having alot of fun with it !  The tires are a little unusual and the e mails on the bush tires brought the subject to light. The ones I have are 8 inch ATV tires that have all the tread ground off.The knobs are still showing on the sidewalls however. I asked the former owner who did this and he replied Dresser tire. Do they do shave tire treads completely bald ?  ?I like the tires but would like a replacement at some time and looked at the Chinese tires mentioned in the letters.They look pretty 'puny" and are only 2 ply.A nicelooking substantial bush tire would be nice.Anyone have any ideas ? As a new Kitfox owner I am tring to absorb every piece of information I can on these aircraft.I am going to Expo in Sebring and will attend the 4 day Rotax 912 class by Lockwood. These engines are sure different from the Lyc/Cont engines I am used to.My first landing in the Kitfox was "deadstick" as the engine quit and prop stopped at about 50 feet (I pulled the throttle back too far trying to slow) Not as bad as deadsticking a T28 (with a broken master rod) from 3000 feet or an engine failure in a  Pitts at 200 ft when you are going straight up though.
