I finally got around to putting Nifty's final departure on my website. It's made me sigh each of the 23 times I've watched it this weekend.

I've wondered about a different name for the RV-7, but then my grandfather (the original Nifty) asked if I was going to name the second one Nifty also. So that sealed it...the RV-7 will be Nifty 2 or Two or Too or II. Etc. Niftier is a good one too....

Larry,
I understand your feeling and agree with others comments about you being crazy!
but
Speaking as a guy that bought someone else's creation.....
and care/repair/upgrade it like it was my own.....
You need to realize how much joy and pleasure Nifty will be bring to a new family.
You are kind of like Santa and his elves making Christmas presents for some
needy pilot and his family and his new RV extended family.
I can truly say this from my own experience and two others that has purchased
RV-6's at Louisa Airport where I'm based.
also the last few weeks I have been helping another flying friend join our group.
He has just purchased a nice RV-6 off Ebay.
He is a retired USAir Captain, retired at 60 yrs old....started with USAir in 1967....(67 now)
He now flies a beautiful cessna 180 and has for years......(he will soon be selling it too...so if you know anybody looking?)
well, he sees the other 3 of us having RV grins around the airport and one day I ask him to give me a BFR.
That starts the wheels turning......note....he did the BFR for free....and it's costing him, 68,600 to start
off with, plus his trip to Denver to retrieve it. Luckily he flies non-rev on USAir, and with a west to east tail wind too.
anyway........he is overjoyed in his purchase and he hasn't even picked it up yet.
So Larry, think of yourself like Santa........wipe that tear from you eye......and keep pounding those rivets!!!!

I balled like a baby watching the first one go away. Piece of advise, when you see it at an airshow, just wave and walk on by. Seeing someone else's changes are hard, too. Now get busy on that new plane!
