I went on both the FAA site and the Zenith site for help in this area.  The FAA (apparently) doesn't want you downloading Form 8000-38 because I couldn't get to it.  And I thought I was good at back dooring things. Guess not.  And a review of the Builder's area on the Zenith site does not yield a builder checklist for the 601 XL.  What am I missing here? Thanks for the posting to the original document Stan. The attachment that I made is a Word file that has exactly the same contents as the form in the PDF but is not as fuzzy (and can be filled in as a text document).

 I just opened your Word doc up and found I like it much more than the  pdf file version on the FAA site, and is now permanently saved on my computer.  Thanks for sharing it with us.

Would a copy of the FAA form 8000-38 that Zenith filled out to establish that the kit meets the 51% rule be something that would be good to show the DAR or FAA when getting our planes inspected for an airworthiness certificate?

The FAA maintains a list of kits that have been found to meet the 51% 

rule, the C601XL is already on that list so you shouldn't have to bother 

with this form.
