Yeh, I was wondering how long it would take to be picked up on YouTube - only two days, that's amazing....

This a video of Hans doing a couple of maneuvers in his modified 701, with VGs instead of slats.
He was the first to change over about 400 hrs ago.

The link direct to the video is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4_GsoN9hA8

Also relevant is the analysis with still clips at
http://www.stolspeed.com/content.php?id=4

Click and go for a ride with Hans.....

Tailwinds always,
JG

Hi,

The introduction to the video says it is a "Long Wing" 701. Does that mean it is not the standard 28, err 27 ft. Zenith wing?

Thanks,

Tommy Walker

As to data on the standard wing with VG's...I was able to match the performance claims of Stolspeed. The flying qualities improved tremendously.

Actually the standard is 27. I believe the long wing is increased by 16" on
each for a total of 32". They have a page on it on their site.
http://www.stolspeed.com/content.php?id=48. I am doing the same plus boxing
the root, which gives me a total of 54 more inches of airfoil. No slats and
adding VGs too.
