I went to the Light Sport expo in Sebring and to the Alaska Bush tire booth. Among all their monster tires they are coming out with one that might suit our airplanes. It is being built for LSA. It is 21" tall ,800 x 6 and weighs 12 lbs.It is tubeless with the valve stem embedded in the side of the side wall (like their other tires) They are still developing the molds to produce it but he said it should be available in a few months. It is a very nice 4 or 6 ply tire (can't remember which) and of course, slick with no treads. It is a little heavy (12 lbs vs 9 1/2 for some others) but it eliminates all the valve stem shearing,etc of tubes and is very substantial. I am sure it will be pricey. If it is not too bad, I will be buying it.

Dick,
I was on their website yesterday and they are showing 3 new tires specifically for the LSA market. They are a 26"x12"x6" as well as a larger 29"x12"x6". They say that they are coming out with a 8.50x6 also...this is probably the one you are talking about. I would like to know the weights on the 26" tires as these are the size that interest me. The cost leaves a lot to be desired...$2000!
