You'ze guys,
A guy I met last summer at my local airport (St. George) is building a Firestar II. Actually, I believe it is finished, and he is simply waiting on the ELSA paperwork.
The point is: He had installed a Hexadyne. I don't know exactly what it was that lead him to do that, but I think he is VERY sorry. It appears that the Hexadyne company is one guy. Parts and repairs from the "Factory" are weeks, at the minimum. The engine is very finicky, darn sure not worth the money he paid, and he wouldn't spend the money, if he had to do it all over again.
On the positive side, for the weight and power, it would be an excellent choice for a Firestar, IF it were dependable.
You've been warned. (Frankly, I think you'd be better off buying an HKS, if you didn't want a Rotax).

Just from what I heard.
