As a follow-up to my earlier post, I flew home last night using Foreflight and got a different result. If you recall, on my maiden flight using Foreflight, when I lost my cell phone signal (still had gps signal) a "cannot connect to Foreflight" window popped up and I could not get it to disappear. I would close the program, restart it and it would work fine until the pop up came up again. Same result. On this flight, when I lost the cell phone signal, the pop up came up, and a single tap anywhere on the screen made the pop up go away and the program worked fine...... Originally no matter what I did, the pop up would not disappear.....
Not sure why the difference, but I was very happy with it's performance yesterday, as others have expressed.
Thanks

[quote]I was flying yesterday using Foreflight on my iphone or the first time, and after a bit I lost my cell phone signal (still had gps signal) and a "cannot connect to Foreflight" window popped up and the program stopped. I had the maps downloaded on the iPhone and I assumed it would work like SkyCharts does, with or without cell service. Are others seeing this? I shut the program down, restarted, it worked for 10-20 seconds, then I got the message again. I was hoping I could somehow acknowledge the message and have the program continue normally, but no such luck. So I used SkyCharts the rest of the flight.....
