I want to thank the member that mentioned carb sync with the Twin Max carb sync unit.I did my first pneumatic Rotax 912 carb sync. using the unit yesterday. Combined with the "throttle bug" I purchased from L & L Aviation the whole thing took less than 30 seconds !
It was a "no brainer" The "throttle bug" uses a knob that you turn to adjust the cable length of one carb to balance it to the other and the single needle of the Twin Max made it a "piece of cake" ! (no more wiggling needles and more precise) You don't have to shut down the engine to adjust the cable housing length time after time. One shot and you are done !
I was able to purchase the Twin Max on Ebay for about $25 cheaper than the normal $90-100 price.(the unit is well worth it)

The "throttle bug" is made by Lowell Fitt (at) Highwingllc.com (208-455-5059.) It sells for $38.50 and replaces the "bug" nut at the end of the throttle bell crank. on the Kitfox.I think not all Kitfox's have the bellcrank so it wouldn't work on all.
For the pneumatic sync, I just tied my tail down, chocked the plane, removed the front and top cowling and attached the Twin Max hoses to the left carb and the balance tube going to the right carb.I had previously done the mechanical sync per Rotax SB so I knew the idle was in the ball park (in fact it turned out to be right on) I then read the instructions for the twin max. It only has one needle so all you do is center the needle with a knob and start the engine. At 1800 rpm I turned the knob on the "throttle bug" which I had previously attached to the back side of the left throttle cable at the bellcrank. I could easily reach it with my right hand in the cockpit and my left holding the Twin Max. All I did was turn the knob on the Throttle bug so that the needle on the Twin max (which was deflected on the out of sync carb) centered up, and I was done! It took much longer to right about it (once I was set up) then to do it. There was no wiggling twin needles or multiple shutdowns to readjust the cable length. The throttle bug moves the cable about 1/8 inch or so and you can do it from the cockpit. The setting stays right were you put it and wont move. The next time you need to adjust the sync its jus a matter of tweaking the adjustment knob. I don' know how it could get any easier.
Lowell has a couple of other neat items on his site that I purchased and installed. He sells shutter kits for the radiator and oil coolers. I got tired of the tape for winter time so now I can regulate both temps from push/pull controls in my cockpit. They work well.
