Has anyone considered making the panel form carbon fiber or composite materials?

My thought is I would make for a slick looking, very strong glare free surface.
Also thinking of using this technique for tips and farings.

John/Mindy
I plan to make my instrument panel from carbon fiber. Doing that should save a little weight but the main reason is it just looks "cool". My son made an instrument panel for his Weedhopper using the material and it really good looking. He laid up the cf on a sheet of glass. It required no finishing and is really smooth.
I also made the fuel tanks for my XL and his Weedhopper from the same material. My XL is not flying yet but the Weedhopper tank has 18 months and about 60 hours service with no problems. I can get a picture of the Weedhopper panel today and send it to you if you would like.
