Bert,
I'm familiar with two RV-6's 0-360 set-ups, mine and Larry's.
Both have standard Van's design FAB with Van's Carb Heat Connector, with the gaps at the bottom
and Vans Carb Heat Muff that-Straps on Crossover Type Exhaust.
This is the vertical one with the short Scat tube connecting them, very simple.
It doesn't work very well, but we always see SOME drop in RPM during every takeoff checklist,
I don't hold it to see how much anymore, but as memory serves me, seems like not much!
But I do check to see I get some drop to tell me the system is functioning properly before takeoff.
About the only thing I can think of that would keep it from working as little as it does would be a poor fit of the flapper in the FAB, it has to be a good fit or it continues to leak fresh air and therefore doesn't force it to suck what little warm air there is available from the meager set up.
The problem I have is keeping enough friction in the cable setup to hold the flapper open in flight!
Good Luck,
Bob Martin

on a lighter note.....try moving the third wheel to its proper position on the tail and maybe the airflow up front will change........
Subject: Carb Heat
Hi:
First time I try to contact this list.
Question is I do not get any confirmation on my EIS, on rpm drop. when
applying Carb Heat.
I have checked with other rv onwners, they do not understand why?
We check every thing...looks OK..
It is standard RV6A....I have checked when taxing,, after temp is hot..
also during flying...on the pattern, nothing...
My friend with same RV6a, gets 50 RPM drop even when taxing...
He does not have EIS.. has regular gauges..
Any Suggestions, comments appreciated
Bert
