Did anybody mount their Dynon OAT sensor in the right wing? If so where?
If not, where did you mount the OAT sensor?

How's life Dutchman ? Waarom zou je het ding rechts willen monteren ? De
nieuwe Sportcruisers (van CAW) hebben 'm ook links (never change a winning
wing of zo) maar wel 2 schotten verder naar de wing tip toe. Dus minder last
van evt propwash. Hoe ver ben je al met je 701 ? Wat voor motor ga je
gebruiken ? Toch niet zo'n suffe Chevie ? Safe maar duur dus Rotax, of een
beetje experimenteren met een Jab ? Wij zijn druk met het verkopen van
Sportcruisers (LSA) dus Experimental in Europa. Gaat een beetje lopen, maar
CAW is er niet al te best aan toe. Jorgen zit nu in Tsjechie om te zien of
er nog wat te "redden" valt. Nou ja, ik laat wel weer van van me weten als
er weer nieuws is. Good luck !

AMD mounts theirs right in the center of the top of the fuselage a little
ways in front of the ELT antenna. I found this out because I was at the
factory today, and spotted it as I was looking over a new one. Since I
didn't know what that little dingus was, I asked.

Evidently so. I didn't think of that as I was there, or I'd have pointed it
out. OTOH, since it's reflective silver, maybe it doesn't heat up much in
the sun.

Mine is mounted in the rearmost upper bulkhead. It is under the fiberglass
"saddle" between the aft end of the turtle deck and the rudder for
protection from the direct sun but outside of the airframe.

I mounted mine in the lower right wing skin, behind the main spar, as far
from the fuselage as was convenient for my arm to reach thru the flanged
holes of the ribs. I works fine here.

I mounted mine under the fuselage, just forward of the leading edge of the
stabiliser.
This was to keep it out of the sun and well clear of engine heat.

My Dynon OAT is mounted on the passenger side NACA Vent, so it is out of the way of getting bumped by debries and people. the air path is neutral and not warmed by exhaust.

It's not officially installed yet, but I have installed the wiring to mount it on the left fuselage side, under the wing, just forward of the flap hinge. Here it will be somewhat protected and out of direct sunlight and the exhaust stream.

I mounted mine in the fuselage bottom in the access hole of the co-pilot's seat just aft of the main carry thru spar. This keeps it out the sun (very important) and away from the exhaust gas. It works very good.

I put mine under the horizontal stab near the remote compass sensor.

I mounted two, one for the D180 & one for the D100, on each side of the fuselage centered under the horizontal stabilizer.

If I'm not mistaken, those probes were shielded so that the probe was not exposed to direct sunlight. The Dynon probe is not shielded.

..could be - but the purpose is to give a reading while flying - and it would take a very black probe and flying very near the sun to have more than a very very small influence after the first several minutes of flight.

Well in my instrument (MGL Enigma) the OAT drives the density altitude display – something I want to know *before* I try to take off.

Dave, I don't understand why flying would influence a temperature probe. Probes are not sensitive to "wind chill" or "heat index". They ARE influenced by direct sunlight, which is why temps are always taken in the shade (if they are to be accurate).
