My newest problem ,after continuous work on my low time 150 hour old 912(replacing hoses, fittingsetc), is that I am having alot of fuel accumulation on the fire wall and dripping out of the flat K&N filters after I uncowl the engine at shutdown. I ran the 912 without the cowl and of course with the airflow it is difficult to determine where it is coming from. The float bowls appear dry and it looks like it is dripping out of the carb inlets.(as I can see oil accumulation below the filter on the firewall I recently oiled the filters and a mix of gas and oil tells the tale. First it was one carb now both ! I have recently replaced the rubber diaphrams (age),float needles and reset the jet needles to number 3 position . I have the old carbs without the o ring for needle stabilization The engine runs fine and I did not notice any problems with fuel leakage until just recently. Would loose jet needles cause this ? The needle fixation screw was installed with a very light smear of locktite and are very easy to turn with a screw driver.I could redo them if that is the problem.I also noticed the float brackets are cupped where the old float needles resided.I need to replace them I know.Would that cause the problem? How about the float level somehow getting out of whack? (although it was fine) Any ideas would sure help.

Dick-
Did you get the exact same float needles? I'm referring to the
strength of the springs inside the float needle. They come in 2 or 3
different spring strengths, I think. I don't know "jack" about Rotax
carbs...Bings?....but a leaky float needle and seat (did you change
seats?) will cause what you describe, or at least in my Bing carb on
a Jabiru it did.
The fact that you changed the float needles could have changed the
float level if the new needles were a slightly different length, or
possibly a different spring strength.
If Rotax carbs don't use the spring-loaded float needles....well,
never mind. : )

How about a leak in the fuel lines which could put a fine spray on the filters. Just me, I tend to look for the simple things first.

Thanks for all the replies. I don't have a boost pump and I think this whole thing started when I replaced the float needles. I will probably put the old one's back in. In the meantime I called Lockwood and the tech told me that the cupping on my float brackets could cause the fuel to spill out of the carb intake and also the Kitfox is prone to this because of the pendulum effect of the carbs out on the ends of the intakes. They shake a lot and the float needles bounce up and down I guess. So I ordered a set of float brackets and will try that ,then on to the floats. All I know at this point is I did not have the problem previously and was only replacing items do to the recommended replacement age. Apparently from the replies, I am not the only one that is having this problem so I will keep you posted
