RV8a Flap Fairing-

RvA Builders, I have a question concerning the left flap fairing. Where the left fairing mounts over the steel step plate the fairing has three # 30 PP holes that would be drilled for attachment as a tail dragger. For the 8A model should the three holes be drilled through the step plate? I am concerned about weakling the plate with three holes in line just to lap the fairing. The plans don't address the issue. Who drilled and riveted the fairing to the plate ? Also I expect with time the step plate will flex with use. Will that warp the fairing ? Next to building the baggage door that dammed left side fairing has been the meanest job so far. Hope to hear from the folks that know, best regards, Bill of Georgia
