I have a pic of an ultrastar with the alum legs that someone might be
interested in. I crunched the originals in an engine out so I rebuilt them
with the plans from a friend and they were fabulous. I could not believe
how much it changed the landing characteristics. wow, great. much better
than the original. This uses the old style very small firestar gear legs.
I have the plans and pics if anyone is interested in it. Ted Cowan.

Ted, does this require welding on the cage or does it just bolt to the
original attachment points?

Sounds interesting, I'd like a copy as well in case I crunch my landing gear this year.

Breaking things is always a good excuse for an upgrade.

Are you saying those legs are firestar legs and they are made from aluminum?

How are they holding up?

Where can you get those legs, does TNK sell them or make your own?

Donnie, what about the bolt on retrofit for the UltraStar?

1. Programmers are expensive.
2. Press releases are cheap.
3. Therefore, it's cheaper to explain the bug than to fix it.

Ted, I'd like to see them. Is it something you can post, perhaps in the
Yahoo Ultrastar group files section?

Dana,

I bought an Ultra Star from Ted and very well may be the one you are discussing. Very nice flyer and having the Firestar gear
legs made it enjoyable.

Below is a link of some pics that may be of interest. I have some more and movies flying the Ultra Star as well.
