Stumbled across this site and thought you all might be interested.
Have eMailed this firm about total weights including starter,
charger, cooling and exhaust systems. They'll also hopefully
send the price for the various packages as well. Anyone know
anything about this subject? I'm thinking 601XL. Here's the link:

Interesting. Let us know about the pricing. I see that there is a belt
drive and gear drive option.

I found more info, including pricing at the below link on the Rotomax website. It certainly looks very promising, but we'll have to wait and see since "things that seem too good to be true probably are not". Is this the same one which is supposed to be at S&F in a couple weeks? I can't go but am looking forward to hearing about it from some folks who can.

There is a gentleman on this list who is putting one in his 701. I'm sure you could search for him using rotomax as a search string.

Not looking to use this engine but,(?) noted the price of a single sparkplug
130 HP engine cost was $6,600.00 and the price of a 130 HP engine with dual
sparkplugs was $15,136.00 Never knew that spark plugs cost that much:-).
Also the shaft for the propeller sure looks SMALL! Jerry

They have a brochure in PDF format, down load it for prices.
The single rotor turbo looks interesting!

I would consider this for my 2nd project airplane in the future, BUT if they decide to raise the prices up to be more in line with Rotax and Jabiru, they will sadly find out - it just won't fly (sorry about the pun). In order to charge a higher price, people have to be educated about them and what they can do (or can't do). The only way that will happen is to make them extremely affordable to get enough of them being used and gaining a reputation (hopefully a good one). The word of mouth is the best seller of all. If they chose to price gouge upfront, they are going to have an AWFULLY LOT of rotarys sitting around......waiting on an order....I for one will NOT buy one without it being "proven in flight use" for several years to come.

Actually if they start to charge like Rotax, I don't care IF they do work exactly as claimed. I won't be buying one.

the main problem with rotary engines is fuel consumption.
check endurance with the quoted consumption figures
rotary engines can be noisy at the exhaust also.

The single rotor turbo is not bad... 2.8 - 5.6 gph

Not too many years ago there was a small US-based viable single rotor rotary engine being developed. I would suspect that one of these two manufacturers was/is involved with the earlier project that I am thinking of.
I recall that the engine's fuel consumption was on par with that of a 2-stroke to get the same horsepower. The projected engine price was more than a 2-stroke Rotax. With comparable fuel consumption, if/when these engines become available, I think one would have to choose between the known quirks of the 2-stroke and the unknown quirks of these engines. If forced to make this decision, I'd choose the former.
