I, too, thought about quick pull pins for the canopy hinges, not so much for safety (but that is a factor) but to make it easier to remove and install a short windscreen for the occasional summer time outing when you would like a convertible!! Let the wind blow!!

I don't know if anyone has actually done it, but I explored the idea some time back. I figured that if you could convert the canopy pivot bolts to something like linch pins, and insert them from [i]inside [/i]out, with two cables and a pull-handle, you could unlock, pull the handle, and the canopy would fly away on its own lift. But I couldn't think of any real reason to eject my canopy in flight. And, a BRS would deal with catastrophic failure, so I filed the idea away.
