Folks,

I'm getting my yak repainted and I want to use adhesive vinyl
markings for the red stars and the buzz number. Can anyone recommend
a supplier who has actually done Russian stars before and got the
proportions and colour correct?

Dave.

I have done both vinyl and paint markings. Paint has yielded the best result for durability and color fading. What I did for my CJ was to have the vinyl shop make up a paint mask star which then can be hand masked for the outline.

I can match the color when I need to by saving the paint codes and taking a weathered panel in for comparison. Even the best vinyl is not warranteed for the same lifetime as paint.But..depends on how much you get outside and actually fly the airplane or sit outside a airshows.

Along the same lines, who are you using for putting your name on the cockpit and what size are those letters.

Thanks,

I think I used 2 1/2" but do not remember for sure. Will measure it this
evening when I go up to the hanger. I use/used Aviation Graphics in
Lakeland, Fl.
1-863-644-2451 is the last # I have on them.
