All,
Nick was hard at work today putting more test hours on the new Demo. When I arrived at the hangar just a little after 7 AM he was already in the cockpit with the engine running. Even though we had light rain, he flew another test profile while the ceiling was high enough. This afternoon the rain left and the weather improved and he flew several more test flights. On one of those flights we briefed a short formation sortie so that I could get some airborne shots, one of which is below. It really looks great in the air even though the wheel pants are not on yet. They have been fitted and will likely go to the paint shop tomorrow.
Blue skies,
Buz

Hi,

Were you flying the prototype when you took this picture? If so, it must be the new wingtips being tested that we see on your wing.

No, Yho, the photo was made by a friend of Nick's in an RV-6A. I am on Nick's wing in my airplane with the slightly modified Esqual wing tips. The new Lightning tips are supposed to arrive via UPS later this week and be on display at SNF. I have not seen them yet - only the renderings from the Cad program that I put in the newsletter. Flight testing will begin on them sometime after SNF.

Look at the new demo to see what is missing from previous airborne shots. Wink
