CPS (California Power Systems) has the new style magnetic plug. You use a regular socket to remove it. It has a hex head. They are cheaper I believe than the old style, but much easier to remove.

Roger,

My illustrated parts catalog in pdf format shows a part number for the
magnetic plug to be 241785. Searching on this number or the
description finds nothing on CPS's on-line catalog. I went to LEAF's
online catalog and searched on "magnetic drain plug" and came up with
a part number 241784 but no illustration to see if this is the new one
or the older internal Torqx style. LEAF's listed price for 241784 is
about $37.

Do you have the correct part number for the new external hex head
magnetic plug?

It's a new part. Just call CPS. They will give you the new part number and price. I have one and like it a lot better than the old one.
