The ice has melted here in Wisconsin. So the "Odd Duck" is flying again. This winter I modified my brake linkage a lot like the photos shown on this link. http://www.ch601.org/resources/brake_mod/brake_mod.htm
The results are incredible! Before I stayed away from airports unless I really needed to land at one. Did not need the brakes on the water! With free castering nose wheels a pilot needs good brakes to steer. The original linkage with the Matco cylinders was adequate at best on wheel gear.......poor- with the amphibious floats. Now I can steer and stop with confidence. Love the info I pick up on this site...Thanks
