WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got back from Tennessee last night. Went up to visit Jim Kmet and get an endorsement (Thank you so much Jim!!! You're a GREAT instructor!!). I couldn't wait to get up this morning and fly "Merry Dawn". Only got to fly for 15 minutes and do one take-off and landing though because I had to go to work! Sad I CAN'T WAIT to go again. WOW!!!! Very Happy

Congratulations Cristal!
I applaud your discipline. I can see how one would be tempted to call in sick with "eye trouble". You know, "I just can't see going going in today"...
Best of luck with your continuing Kolb adventure.

I know the feeling! After all these years flying a Firestar and now the Kolbra, it almost seems like I soloed for the first time yesterday.

You would have heard that WOO HOO from the FBO twice...once when I landed and again when I got out of the plane. I was not only excited...I was THRILLED! That thing jumped off the ground like a grasshopper and climbed like there was no tomorrow.

When I got out to the hanger this morning and got her ready to fly, I was so nervous. The plane HAS flown before, but not after we did so much to get her ready for the airworthiness inspection, and not with me as PIC (student pilot still and having only solo'd a Cessna 150). So I primed her, pulled the choke and cranked her up...she died after I put the choke in (seems to happen when I haven't cranked her in a while and when it's a little cold). So I tried to crank her again and she wouldn't start. Then I tried to crank her again and my battery must have gotten low by then. So there I sat thinking I wasn't going to fly it today. And this morning looked to be the only good time to fly this week (no winds). So I sat in her and chair flied for a bit and then decided to try to crank her again (with a little prayer) and she cranked right up and ran beautifully. So I WAS going to get to fly her today AFTER ALL! Very Happy I taxied out to the runway, got a dragonfly passenger along the way. Here's the look on the dragonfly's face at 2500ft --> Shocked

I'm using a handheld radio and I was about 2000 ft up and I heard someone but I mostly heard
static. I hear things fine on the ground at the airport. Do I need an extension for the antenna maybe?
