Attached are the pictures I took of my elevator set up. I haven't got
any manuals with me to check the numbers but the up elevator was
possibly 25 degrees. The down 10? The stops being the travel on the
bottom of the control column forward pivot and the seat bulkhead with
clearance in the stabiliser.
Certainly not that same up and down. Buz what is yours like?
Though after recent reports on Esqual w+b and control issues something
to explore in the test flying. Getting the nose down can be as critical
as pulling it up under certain situation.....

This is a classic with the Jabiru where there is little down elevator
needed, where folk set the up and down equal they don't have enough up
elevator travel to flare at low speeds.

Dave, excellent use of space, parachute installation and a good
collection of equipment for killing things!

Regards, Clive

the lightning we rig for 12-15 down and 22-25 up...

Clive
I have 21 degrees up and 17 degrees down on the elevator, I believe the
Esqual manual says 25 up, but don't take my word on this.
Buz, my stalls are within 3 to 4 mph of yours. At cruise, all I have done
is head into the wind, read gps, turn 180, read gps, split the difference,
and it equals indicated. But yes, the indicated could be off, till I find a
FA18 in Winona so we can compare I won't know--just kidding-

Good info, Nick's recommendation is also to drop the 'up' back a bit and
I suspect then that Buz's will be away from the original 25 degrees.

Some tweaking needed me thinks. Many thanks, Clive
