Buddy dropped by in the 701 he finished last year. He didn't mind the
t-handle throttle control, but it was really bindy and he said it
still creeps on him so he needs to tighten the bolt on that friction
block even more. I think it sucks.
What is your experience with the T-handles, and have any of you
switched to one of those cessna-type ones? And did you eliminate the
friction block altogether?

The T-handle is VERY, VERY poor.

Tony, I had a cock eyed look at that arangement too, did a Piper type centre
throttle in the end.
Only problem is it doesnt work on the centre stick, you'll have to install 2
sticks, pics if you want.

I bought a throttle cable from ACS. It’s one of the friction lock kind. I think I paid about 40.00 U.S. for it.

I also purchased a friction lock type throttle (A-810) for the left side only. The right side is the supplied t-handle. I filed the nylon bearing in the friction block down to zero friction so it acts as a guide only. I'm not flying, but my engine is running and so far it seems like a good plan.

I purchased 2 from ACS and remove the friction ring from the passenger side. This was so it would not inadvertently tighten up where I could not reach. Worked good other than i need to make some nice knobs as the ones that came with the cables are pretty large and ugly. I am running with the center stick. I attached some pics showing the bracket I made for the Firewall that works great to hold the cable. Flexible cable will probably give you a little more flexibility on the position of the throttle handle as well.

The friction throttle of ANY sort sucks on a Rotax engine. The springs are so strong trying to pull the throttle wide open that it becomes a dangerous situation waiting for an accident to happen!
After 50 hours with an ACS friction throttle I changed to the ACS Vernier throttle, much safer. It stays where you leave it without any creeping to a higher throttle setting. It would happen to me in the air, on the ground or wherever. If I got it tight enough so it didn't creep then I couldn't move it easily enough to manipulate it for fine throttle adjustments taxing or landing.
After it crept up on me a few times while warming up I knew I had to do something else with it.

Once we got the friction pressure of the thottle at a level we liked, has been there for more than 100 hrs with no problem, (lots of landing and take off practice from several pilots and keeps going).
