I'll be in Shelbyville next week starting Tuesday, May 6. Plan to have Nick et al help with the new elevator trim, get some spots painted, get an interior started and several other smaller projects. Looking forward to visiting with everybody and getting an update on the Lightning Skunk Works projects.
Will anybody else be around?

Earl,
I will arrive SYI sometime Sunday evening, then at the Lightning skunk works on Monday and Tuesday. In Smyrna on Wed and Thursday, for the National Intercollegiate Flying contest - no I am not back in college. Will be back to SYI on Friday for another few days. See you there.
By the way, have you (or anyone) received the May Lightning newsletter? I sent it out just before noon.

I will be in Smyrna, TN next week judging at the National Intercollegiate Flying Association competition; if we get some free time, I may swing over to SYI also.

Brian,
Will you be able to stay in SYI until Monday? I will be there Monday and part of that week with some time spent at Smyrna for the national college flying contest. Nick and I are "cooking" up a future "special feature" that will involve the new Demo and some other "fast" machines. For now, the details are classified compartmentalized "skunk works" NOFORN. We can "read you in" on Monday

Buz,
Sorry, have to leave out Saturday night. Have a $20 million piece of hardware going up on the next shuttle flight that I have to make sure gets out the door next week so I couldn't stay later. I did get a 1st class "tour" from Nick today of some of the stuff like the wingtip and got to see the new demo plane. Definately a transformation from a good plane to a great plane from what I flew a little over a year ago. The demo really is much better looking in real life than in pics. Got to check out the new Jabiru 230 too. Nick was going to take me on a flight, but weather is bad here today. I did get my thesis defended and am going to send a finished copy to Nick when I get back home. It turned out pretty interesting. Good luck to you guys on judging the flying competition next week. I also have a security clearance now, so feel free to let me in on any secrets!  I can keep a few. Brian Whittingham
