Kolb guys,

It turns out I'll most likely fly my Cessna 172 to M.V., bringing along that friend who has the finished, yet unflown, Firestar.

I am close to 200 miles from M.V., and can make it there and back without refueling. But, this wouldn't afford me any sight-seeing to speak of, so I would like to get a fill-up near M.V.

I have the 160HP upgrade Lycoming, and can not use auto gas. Does anyone know where a guy can get avgas near M.V.? I don't have that sectional.

Thanks,

Mike Welch

Avgas is available at both:

Page Municipal Airport, AZ
http://www.airnav.com/airport/KPGA

and

Cal Black Memorial Airport. UT:
http://www.airnav.com/airport/U96

If you need to look at a sectional but don't have one, try this site with online sectionals:

When you get to this page, type in UT25 and check the 100LL box.

Just go to sportys.com go to map page and order the Sectional you want. If you live in the West then the folks at KSDL will get you a chart pretty quick. Sportys though is very good. Lets see if I can find you a direct link.

mypilotstore.com for you folks in the West.

http://sportys.com/charts for everybody else.

John H.

John H & John W.,

Thanks for the info. Actually, no, I haven't tried AirNav before, because all the flying I ever do can be taken care of with my fill-up prior to leaving my home airport. Of the 5 or so long distance cross-country flights I've done(usually 800+ miles), I always chart my path to stop at convenient airports along the way that have avgas.

I have a Las Vegas sectional. That's the sectional that covers my home turf. The problem is it comes up just short of UT25. I could get the next eastern (of Las Vegas) sectional at my local FBO, but I didn't plan on it, since it is just slightly off the page of the one I have.

I've got my two GPSes (Garmin 296 and GNC300XL), my sectional that gets me 95% of the way, plus Google Earth 3D pictures of the complete route. I'll chart a course on my sectional, dropping by Bryce Airport for some go-juice.

Thanks for the tips!!!

Mike W.
