recently a friend with a dakota hawk experimented with vortex generators on the leading edge of the wing. the results were impressive. power off was about 26-28mph, before it was 36mph. clean. these numbers are not exact but the magnitude is accurate. the kicker was that any angle steeper than 3 point landing config. may have kept you safer at altitude but was unuseable for landing. a trailer leveling bubble mounted in the cabin would have made testing minimum speeds at altitude a lot moe accurate than guessing at the 3 point angle of attack. just food for thought.
