|
|
Builders,
Have installed and tested my flap controls; however, am now ready to tighten down the bolts holding actuator and other end (6B19-7 connect to 6B19-3). The call-out on 6-B-19, in the lower left corner dwg. is for a AN5-11a bolt with 3 washers.
After placing the 3 washers on the rod-end CW5-12, I stepped back and looked at it...doesn't look right. 6B19-3 is distorted open. Can not believe that is what was intended. Are 3 washers needed? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

I don't have the drawings or the plane handy right now but, as I recall, the washers should go directly under the bolt head and/or the nut. The flap actuator lever (6B19-3?) should clamp down directly on the rod end with no washers in between. The washers just prevent the nut from bottoming out on the bolt shank.
