Dear List members,
My son and I are building a 701 in South Africa, one of my tasks is to handle the paper work. We have to apply for a "build number", which we did last December, but they cannot find the application. I re-applied, now they ask that the application must be accompanied by "a design criteria as specified in South African Civil Aviation Technical Standards Part 24.01.2.A.2"
Does anyone have an idea what this may be? Any South Afriacns that have discovered this?
Another of my tasks is to find an engine. I look forward to hear what other list members have on their 701's.
Good building!

Coen, in most countries copies of the specification pages showing the design criteria
including the 3D outline sketches and the loading derating formula and COG and weight
information found in the beginning of the drawing set is what you send in to the authorities
in order to get a permit and a building/repair project number. SACA will probably also
want to know the serial number of the kit or of the drawings (same number) and the
official type designation of the plane. Note that you are probably building
a Canadian designed aircraft called the CH701SP. Good luck, Max
