I would like to share with the list, an awesome experience I had this
Memorial weekend. I live in North Alabama and partnered with my dad on
a series 5 Vixen kit that we are currently covering. We have had the kit
for four years and neither one of us have ever seen a Kitfox fly, much
less flown in one. My wife, 3 year old daughter, and I was in Atlanta
Saturday and I knew from reading this list that Travis Rayner (which I
had never met) and possibly others had flown to High Valley Resort, one
and a half hours north of Atlanta, for the weekend. So Sunday we drove
to the resort with camera and questions and was thrilled when we saw a
beautiful blue vixen sitting there. After I introduced myself and my
mission I was welcomed to crawl all thru Mr. Rayner plane and take as
many pictures and ask as many questions as I could. TALK ABOUT A KID IN
A CANDY STORE!!!!! After about an hour or so of taking notes I was
running out of questions and that is when it happened. Mr Rayner
mentioned the "F" word. That's right, FLYING!! He said he needed to fly
about 18 miles to the north to fuel up and invited me to ride. I was
overwhelmed with excitement and with a preflight and short ground roll we
were off. I am a low time Cessna pilot and could not believe how
responsive the controls were. What a blast!!! I got a small glimpse of
why the Kitfox is loved by so many. This trip was the push needed to go
home and finish a seemingly endless project. I can't express enough of
my appreciation of Travis and his wife Cathy for letting my family and I
intrude on their vacation and excepting us so warmly. This proves there
is a lot to be said about the Kitfox community. I can't wait until the
day I can give someone their first Kitfox ride in my plane. Thanks
again Travis for the flight I will not soon forget!!

Chris,
Thanks for the kind words! Embarassed Welcome to the Kitfox family! I did note that you appeared to be right at home behind the Vixen stick...not timid at all!

There are some great folks on this forum and their Kitfox knowledge goes WAY beyond mine. Good luck with the building project and keep us informed!

...Glad you enjoyed the flight!

Travis Very Happy
