Bryan,
I mounted mine under the passenger seat with the mounting base bolted to the seat.

Mine's on a triangular aluminum frame attached at 3 points by adel clamps to structural tubing just behind the seat, shoulder high at the midline. Peel the nylon cover up and there it is!

My ELt in on floor on right side close to longeron. passenger's leg sits on top of it an does not rub. Easy to get at. I think the regs call for an ELT to be mounted to be able to withstand a certain shock like 10G force or something.

I had mine up there originally but it interfered with the wing folding. I finally decided to do something about it and moved it down.

Mike: My mount must be different somehow. I've had no issues at all with wings folding.

Marco, I know where you are talking about now. I have my wingtip strobes power supply, intercom and 12 volt outlet there. My mount was above that on a crosstube and the aileron mechanism would come into the centre and interfere with the ELT.
