Hello, 

 I currently own a 601HD. It is registered as an  advanced ultralight in Canada. Does anyone know if I can import this airplane  into the U.S.  I am moving to the U.S. and want to take my plane but may be  forced to sell if it cannot be imported.

Hi Gord,

I recollect several aircraft being sold into the US from Canada, so it's 

likely you're only moving property and possibly changing the registry.

There was an article in this months UPAC magazine that addressed that exact question.  Unfortunately I tossed it already.  You should contact them at www.upac.ca  Kathy Lubitz wrote the article so you should direct it to her.

 

If I remember correctly AULA's can not be sold into the US

One of my instructors bought a plane from a Canadian owner and flew it here to Michigan.  Not sure what he did about the registry but I think he sold it again here in the states.
