I just heard that a Kitfox went down in Seabrook, Texas. The word is it was on a demo flight with a prospective buyer. What I heard was that it was in the pattern doing touch & goes. Anyone else hear about this? Any details? Who was it?

He had that plane up for sale...I believe he was asking only 15,000 for it.

Hmmmm. What a shame to lose two pilots, both in one flight. Hopefully,
someone will be able to report to us what happened, if it's ever known.
Thanks Jeff.

The plane was for sale, as noted above.

Check out that empty weight! That's got to be a record! Let's see,
full tanks + 2x175# FAA occupants = 1534#. Big engine = forward CG. I
wonder what his stall speed was? Ouch!

I checked on that plane a very long time ago and from what I remember from talking with the 80 yr old owner it had previously sustained damage from a hard landing which was repaired and then had longer wing struts installed with different attach points on the wing. The owner boasted that it had two of everything and that he had registered it with a 1700lb gross. I don't know how he kept the CG within limits without putting the two batteries way in the back which would cause additional stress on the frame. Layne S5 EA81
