Has anyone considered using a drill battery for their radios. A clip could be made and attached to the battery, My radio and GPS use the voltage produced by the 447 and a Key West regulator. I have 4 Dewalt 14 volt batteries that I could user.. They re-charge up quick.

You'd just be paying extra for the drill battery packaging. Nicad or NiMh cells are readily available, cheap, from lots of sources.
